UNHCR says armed men on horseback have attacked 23 villages in southeastern Chad since the beginning of November, and people have fled at least 20 other villages in fear of more attacks. At least 200 people have been killed and dozens others wounded. Some have had their eyes gouged out, while others have been burned after being trapped when their homes were set on fire. Some 75,000 Chadians have been forced to flee their villages in the past year - 12,000 of them this month alone, according to UNHCR.

"What is clear is that there is an extension of the violence and insecurity in Darfur taking place into eastern Chad. This has been happening for the last few months. This is a very worrying sign that maybe the conflict in Darfur might be becoming regionalized."

The Sudan led assault on all its neighbor's continue. This is further evidenced of radical Islam on the military genocide of all non-Muslims...Reporters can call it "inter-ethnic" all day long, because war is not allowed in their philosophy as an option, yet they calmly watch as entire ethnic tribes are wiped out....

Call for selling stock of companies working in Sudan
U.S. Congress Representatives Frank Wolf (R-VA), Donald Payne (D-NJ), and Jim Moran (D-VA) today called for states to divest public funds from companies doing business in Sudan. To date, six states have enacted divestment legislation. Their bi-partisan statement urges the remaining 44 U.S. states to also divest to create economic pressure on the Sudanese Government.
Divestment, widely debated as an effective pressure tactic, involves selling shares of a company's stock in hopes that the overall value of the stock will decrease. Divestment was a popular pressure strategy in attempts to end violence in Israel and apartheid in South Africa.

Posted 17 October:
Eritrea, a primarily mulsim country, seceeded from Etheopia a few years back, and has been figting with Ethiopa over more land in a border dispute. The UN has been negotiating a solution, and it looks like Eritrea did'nt like the solution that the UN is coming up with:
In short, another Muslim incursion.
-Shimron
NAIROBI, 17 Oct 2006 (IRIN) - Eritrea has moved 1,500 troops and 14 tanks to a buffer zone along its border with Ethiopia, which was created after the war between the two countries over their disputed frontier. Commentary by By Mohammed Saleh, posted by Shimron
When Pope Benedict recently cited an old debate in which it had been argued that Islam is a religion of violence which had ruled only by the sword, the Arab world’s official media saw it as an opportunity to preoccupy the mob in Arab and Muslim societies, and to divert them from talking about the far more important matters of freedom, democracy, poverty or corruption, from which all Arab and Muslim people are suffering. On gathering these unenlightened crowds together in different Arab and Muslim, their empty minds were stuffed full of the words of ideological clerics, who called on the Pope to apologise.
The demands of these mobs revealed how little-used to freedom of speech, or to the right to differ intellectually and religiously, are the peoples living under these dictatorial regimes. If the masses were enlightened, they would – for example – be questioning the killing in Iraq, where sick idiots have been tricked into action under the pretext of Jihad, leaving non-Muslims to believe that the violence there is what Islam stands for and what the Quran requires.
If I were not a Muslim I would have accused Islam of much worse things than that done by the Danish cartoonist or Pope Benedict. Why? Because as long as the world continues to witness the indiscriminate and savage killing in Iraq and other Arab countries – killing which is perpetrated without condemnation from those religious zealots who shout in the streets and organise phoney demonstrations in defence of religion – those who claim to defend the faith while tarnishing its image by encouraging terrorists to kill under cover of criminal fatwas, are behaving in a manner which is far worse. click here for more

Hezbolah and al Qaeda Side by Side
Hezbolah, a multi-national Iranian-supported Shi'ite Terrorist Group, and al Quaida, a Suny multi-National Terrorist Group do not normally coopoerate with each other.
This is something to Monitor

"US Director of National Intelligence John Negroponte said Friday that the US was considering the possibility that Al Qaida could expand its operations to Lebanon, Israel Radio reported. Negroponte said the possibility of Al Qaida's cooperating with Hizbullah could not be ruled out, despite the fact that Al Qaida is a Sunni organization and Hizbullah is Shi'ite. Al Qaida's number two, Ayman Al Zawahiri, in a video marking the fifth anniversary of the September 11 attacks, called on Muslims to fight "Zionist forces" in south Lebanon, and "set up a jihad base on the borders of Palestine."

This was posted to the Treasury Departments OFAC office:
This is an important notice because Bank Saderat has offices all around the world
-Shimron
OFAC has amended the Iranian Transactions Regulations (ITR) to cut off Bank Saderat, one of Iran’s largest government-owned banks, from the U.S. financial system. Bank Saderat has been a significant facilitator of Hizballah’s financial activities and has served as a conduit between the Government of Iran and Hizballah, Hamas, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command, and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. OFAC 's amendments prohibit all transactions directly or indirectly involving Bank Saderat. The changes exclude Bank Saderat from the general license allowing for "U-turn" payments and from transactions ordinarily incident to licensed or exempt transactions, including payments and financing for the exportation of licensed agricultural goods, medicine, and medical devices. While the amendments contain grace periods for completing certain transactions, U-turns must be stopped immediately. These ITR amendments , having been filed, are available on OFAC's website, are effective immediately, and will be published in their entirety in the Federal Register on Tuesday, September 12, 2006.
