Zubayr Says Al Shabaab will Assist with Somali Drought

The overall leader of the Al-Shabab militia group in Somalia Ahmed Godane has said that Al-Shabab will do all that it takes to assist the drought hit people of Somalia.

He added that all the people in South Somalia will try to bring all that they have together and assist the people affected by drought.

"We are aware that there is a serious drought in parts of Somalia and therefore we urge the islamic communities to come to the rescue of the Somalia people." It is in rare occasions that the head of Al-Shabab comes out openly to talk on issues affecting Somali people.
