AQIM Ambushes Army Convey in Bisraka Provence , Algeria
CAIRO [MENL] -- The Al Qaida network has resumed its offensive in Algeria.The Al Qaida Organization in the Islamic Maghreb has staged itsbloodiest attack in Algeria in 2009. On May 26, an AQIM squad ambushed an Algerian Army convoy and killed nine soldiers from a paratrooper unit. Algerian security sources said seven soldiers were also injured in theambush in the Bisrka province, 550 kilometers east of Algiers. An AQIMattacker was also killed.
