Africa: The Next Battle

Next week Newsweek is coming out with an article on Africom and its search for a home in Africa. There is nothing there that we have not been saying for some time, Now the rest of the world is becoming more and more aware that Africa is where the next battle will be fought. Actually where it is already being fought. Here are some Pre-Battle Points of interest.

• China has more embassies and"listening posts" in Africa than the US
• the Sahel region appears to be a priority for Africom
• They are operating in Djaboutit and Ethiopia
• The most likely Location for headquarters and other locations are Ghana, Liberia, Tanzania and Ethiopia. (Though Tanzani has publicly said no)

It is the 3D Strategy:

• Diplomacy
• Defence
• Development

There are Four Groups using it:

• China
• Arab Countries led by Libya
• United States
• Russia
